Molding You

 

当我们遭受患难并为基督而死，这意味着我们将与他同活在天国。

我有一个朋友，在大萧条时期失去了工作、财富、妻子，还有家。但是他仍然持守他的信仰，这是他唯一剩下的东西。一天，他停下来看一些人在一个大教堂上凿石头，其中一个人在凿一个三角形的石头。“你要用它做什么？”我的朋友问。那个工人回答说：“看见塔尖那边的小洞口了吗？我正在打磨它好让它适合安置在那里。” 当我朋友离开时他眼中充满了泪水，因为神似乎通过这个工人来解释他所经历的磨难 ：“我正在塑造你，使你成为合用的器皿。”

I have a friend who during the Depression lost his job, a fortune, a wife, and a home.

But he tenaciously held to his faith-the only thing he had left. One day he stopped to watch some men doing stonework on a huge church. One of them was chiseling a triangular piece of stone. “What are you going to do with that?” asked my friend. The workman said, “See that little opening away up there near the spire? Well, I’m shaping this down here, so it will fit in up there.” Tears filled the eyes of my friend as he walked away, for it seemed that God had spoken through the workman to explain his ordeal through which he was passing, “I’m shaping you down here, so you’ll fit in up there.”

Thank You, Lord, for all the “shaping” in my life, which brings me closer to You.
