信心和行为
“若是弟兄或是姊妹，赤身露体，又缺了日用的饮食； 你们中间有人对他们说：「平平安安地去吧！愿你们穿得暖，吃得饱」，却不给他们身体所需用的，这有什么益处呢？”
雅各书 2:15-16
我们经常可以看到一些人流落街头，有的借着硬纸板或报纸睡在长凳上，有的喝醉酒，有的生病，有的被人扔石头。诸如此类，还有很多我们没有也不愿看到的。有的人全家只能睡在车里；有的穷困孩子因为没有跑鞋而不能参加体育课；有的女孩被绑架拍卖。
那些街头巷尾的绝望和死亡，我们也许没有看到，但我们知道那么多问题的存在。也就是说，我们没有注意到主耶稣与他们同在。
今日祷告：
主耶稣，我觉得自己多么可悲。我知道祢爱那弟兄中最小的一个。求祢快快开启我的灵魂和双眼，让我能够去关心那些有需要的人。阿们。
June 5 – Suppose You See
Suppose you see a brother or sister who has no food or clothing, and you say, “Good-bye and have a good day; stay warm and eat well”—but then you don’t give that person any food or clothing. What good does that do?
JAMES2:15–16
We’ve all seen them. Men and women huddled up on benches with a piece of cardboard or some newspaper. Asleep. Or drunk. Or sick. Or stoned.
Whatever. But there is a lot we haven’t been willing to see. We haven’t seen the families sleeping in cars. We haven’t seen the malnourished boy skip gym class because he can’t afford running shoes. We haven’t seen the runaway daughter trapped in an industry that wants to sell her to the highest bidder. We haven’t seen the despair and death in the alley. Oh, we’ve seen some problems. We know they’re there. But we haven’t seen the people. And that means we haven’t noticed Jesus with them.
Pray for the Day:
Lord Jesus, what a miserable wretch I can be. I know you love the “least of these.” Quicken the link between my eyes and my soul so that I will care for a neighbor in need. Amen.
