上帝的声音
“耶和华说：「你出来站在山上，在我面前。」那时耶和华从那里经过，在他面前有烈风大作，崩山碎石，耶和华却不在风中；风后地震，耶和华却不在其中； 地震后有火，耶和华也不在火中；火后有微小的声音。 以利亚 听见，就用外衣蒙上脸，出来站在洞口。有声音向他说：「 以利亚 啊，你在这里做什么？」”
列王纪上 19:11-13
如果上帝愿意，他会直接冲到我们中间，叫我们听他大声说话。但是，上帝却宁愿用微小的声音引起我们的注意。这是上帝独特的温柔，因为我们的心灵和耳朵是如此脆弱。当然，上帝发怒时，他的声音可以撕碎我们，他的言语可以彻底毁灭我们。他的恩典之声又可以轻而易举地创造我们，他的呼吸可以修复我们的身体 ，他的话语可以给我们全新的生命。我们愿意接受吗？ 我们愿意聆听他的微声吗？如果愿意，那么上帝会柔声呼唤； 如果我们不听，上帝可能要向我们击掌，用雷鸣般的声音对我们说话。
今日祷告：
耶稣，求你开启我的耳朵，聆听你的话语。阿们。
June 29 – If God Wants
“Go out and stand before me on the mountain,” the Lord told him. And as Elijah stood there, the Lord passed by, and a mighty windstorm hit the mountain. It was such a terrible blast that the rocks were torn loose, but the Lord was not in the wind. After the wind there was an earthquake,
but the Lord was not in the earthquake. And after the earthquake there was a fire, but the Lord was not in the fire. And after the fire there was the sound of a gentle whisper.
1 KINGS 19:11–13
If God wanted to, of course, he could crash into our party and force us to listen. But he would rather get our attention through a gentle whisper. It’s God’s way of being gentle on our fragile hearts and ears. God’s voice of wrath could tear the skin from our bones; his word could completely destroy us. Or God’s voice of grace could create us. His breath could mend our tissue back together and his word could give us new life—if he wants.
But do we want it? Are we willing to listen to his gentle whisper? If yes, then God will call out gently. If no, then God might eventually need to clap his hands and thunder his voice in our direction.
Pray for the Day:
Jesus, open my ears to hear you speak. Amen.
