歇一歇
“他就说：「你们来，同我暗暗地到旷野地方去歇一歇。」这是因为来往的人多，他们连吃饭也没有工夫。”
马可福音 6:31
人类是躁动不安的生物。他们忙忙碌碌，背负重担，不敢停歇；因为一旦停歇，他们就得思考；一旦思考，他们就得与内心的重担和思虑争战；一旦他们有争战，他们就会感到疲惫；一旦他们感到疲惫，他们就得休息。
因此，人类奋斗不息，并以此为荣。人类是历史上生产力 最高的生物。他们过度安排、过度强迫自己竭尽全力，然后又希望享受娱乐时间。就连上帝在创造天地之后还停下来安歇。人类却并非如此。他们过为已甚。他们宁要不断向前也不要安静停歇。他们是不安分的生物。
然而耶稣，安息日的主，祂知道要安静休息。他要我们停下匆忙的脚步，在餐桌前坐下一起用餐。
今日祷告：
主耶稣，求祢帮助我今天好好休息。阿们。
February 18 – Restless
Then Jesus said, “Let’s go off by ourselves to a quiet place and rest awhile.” He said this because there were so many people coming and going that Jesus and his apostles didn’t even have time to eat.

Humans are restless creatures. They are busy carrying busy burdens and are afraid to stop, because, if they stop, they might have to think. And if they think, they might have to wrestle with their burdens and what is going on inside of them. And if they have to wrestle with their burdens, they might get tired. And if they get tired, they might need to rest.
Because of this, humans don’t stop. Instead, they pride themselves in activity. They are the most productive least productive creatures in all of history. They overschedule, overcommit, and overextend themselves and then wish they had time to enjoy themselves. Even God stopped the activity of creation to pause and rest. But not humans. No. They are so over that pattern. Instead they choose pace over peace. They are restless creatures.
But Jesus, the Lord of the Sabbath, is restful. He asks us to stop our scurry long enough to sit down at the table together for a meal.
Pray for the Day:
Lord Jesus, help me rest today. Amen.
