耻辱的一天
“虽然无花果树不发旺，葡萄树不结果，橄榄树也不效力，田地不出粮食，圈中绝了羊，棚内也没有牛；然而，我要因耶和华欢欣，因救我的上帝喜乐。主耶和华是我的力量；他使我的脚快如母鹿的蹄，又使我稳行在高处。”
哈巴谷书 3:17-19
日军突袭珍珠港，震惊了整个美利坚。他们只用了353驾战斗机，就摧毁了美国太平洋舰队和将近200架飞机，更糟糕的是，那一天有2400多人丧生。第二天，美国对日本宣战。这场战争在接下来的几年内，导致数十万士兵和平民死亡。
战争的恐怖提醒了我们，生命与平安是如此脆弱。恐惧突如其来，造成了持续的破坏。然而，再残酷的战争，也敌不过上帝的强大。祂要重建这个世界于瓦砾中，祂要使那些为别人献出生命的人得到光荣，祂也要重新立定我们的脚步，让我们跟随祂。
今日祷告：
耶稣，这个世界多么需要祢！我期待你的救恩。阿们。

Day of Infamy
Even though the fig trees have no blossoms, and there are no grapes on the vines; even though the olive crop fails, and the fields lie empty and barren; even though the flocks die in the fields, and the cattle barns are empty, yet I will rejoice in the Lord! I will be joyful in the God of my salvation! The Sovereign Lord is my strength! He makes me as surefooted as a deer, able to tread upon the heights.

The attack on Pearl Harbor startled the nation. Three hundred and fifty three Japanese planes crippled the United States Pacific Fleet and nearly 200 aircraft. Worse than that, however, over 2,400 people were killed that day.
The next day, the United States declared war on Japan—a war that would involve the death of hundreds of thousands of soldiers and civilians over the next few years.
The horror of war reminds us that life and peace on this earth are fragile. Fear strikes unexpectedly and wreaks long-lasting devastation. Yet the Lord is stronger than the worst war. He will restore this world from its rubble, he will honor those who offer their lives for the good of others, and he will reestablish our steps as we follow him.
Pray for the Day:
Jesus, this world needs you! I place my hope in your salvation today. Amen.
