Seeing
Turn my eyes from worthless things, and give me life through your word.
PSALM 119: 37
It is often said that leaders who make the most significant difference in our world are people who have “vision.” They see what is and they envision what could be. They don’t waste the focus of their sight on despair, they don’t allow their sight to be distracted by sin or selfishness, and they don’t develop blurriness or nearsightedness from binge-watching the wrong things.
Leaders who make a significant difference in our world have keen insight into the immediate landscape and also crisp foresight on the horizon. They choose to see the God-created potential in humanity and they help others to see it too. A. W. Tozer (why do all the cool writers get initials for first names?) once wrote, “Faith is the gaze of a soul upon a saving God.” In other words, looking and believing are the same thing. What we choose to see reveals what we believe should be the focus of our lives.
Pray for the Day:
Jesus, let me see you and you alone. Repair my sight and fix my eyes upon you. Amen.
