生命信息
“你岂不曾知道吗？你岂不曾听见吗？永在的上帝耶和华，创造地极的主，并不疲乏，也不困倦；他的智慧无法测度。疲乏的，他赐能力；软弱的，他加力量。就是少年人也要疲乏困倦； 强壮的也必全然跌倒。但那等候耶和华的必从新得力。他们必如鹰展翅上腾；他们奔跑却不困倦，行走却不疲乏。”
以赛亚书 40:28-31
在我们所处的信息时代，信息让我们可以掌控和支配。我们获取信息、搜索信息，这些信息给我们力量。因为我们活在这样一个信息主导的社会，我们也想打开圣经，搜索信息，如同打开谷歌搜索一样。我们搜寻关于上帝的信息，关于生命的信息、关于信仰的信息、关于如何做出选择，如何养育子女、以及搜寻有关工作的信息，等等。
然而，圣经并不是为了让我们的头脑充满信息而写的，虽然圣经的字里行间也包含了一些很有意义的资料。但是除了纯粹的信息之外，圣经的目的是要我们成为上帝的子民。上帝的话语是要塑造和转变我们的生命，使我们得着上帝的能力。
今日祷告：
耶稣，愿祢用祢的话语改变我。阿们。

(In)formation
Have you never heard? Have you never understood? The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of all the earth. He never grows weak or weary. No one can measure the depths of his understanding. He gives power to the weak and strength to the powerless. Even youths will become weak and tired, and young men will fall in exhaustion. But those who trust in the Lord will find new strength. They will soar high on wings like eagles. They will run and not grow weary. They will walk and not faint.
ISAIAH 40 : 28 – 31
Information gives us control. We access information, we search for it, and that information gives us power. Because we live in an information driven world, we tend to open the Bible for information, like some archaic magical Google. We look for information about God, about life, about faith, about a decision, about parenting, about work, about _____________.
The Bible wasn’t written to fill our heads with information, however. It’s true that within its pages the Bible contains some interesting and helpful material. But even more than solid information, the Word of God is focused on our formation as God’s people. The Bible exists so that we can be shaped and transformed and empowered by God.

Jesus, change me through your Word. Amen.
