神看内心
“耶和华却对撒母耳说：「不要看他的外貌和他身材高大，我不拣选他。因为，耶和华不像人看人：人是看外貌；耶和华是看内心。」”
撒母耳记上 16:7
我们喜欢看帅哥美女。我们追求时尚、跟进潮流，我们注重衣着打扮并为之付出很多精力和金钱。就像比利·克里斯托电影里的那句经典台词：“你看上去棒极了！看着好，总比觉着好，亲爱的，你知道我的意思吧？”
长期以来，全世界都认同这个观念。三千年前，以色列要立王。耶和华要先知撒母耳从耶西家族选一个儿子膏立为王，他是伯利恒的牧羊人。当撒母耳看到耶西的长子以利押的时候，这位先知认为他的容貌就像一位国王，因为以利押高大英俊。但是耶和华却责备了撒母耳。因为上帝对事物的看法和我们人的看法不同。上帝看的不是我们的外表，而是我们的内心。
今日祷告：
主耶稣，帮助我更加看重与祢的关系和对他人的关爱，而不是看重肤浅的生活方式。阿们。

Look at What God Looks At
But the Lord said to Samuel, “Don’t judge by his appearance or height, for I have rejected him. The Lord doesn’t see things the way you see them. People judge by outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.”
1 SAMUEL 16 : 7
We love looking at good-looking people. We elevate the glamorous, we celebrate the stylish, we exalt the pretty face, and we spend a lot of time and energy and money on cosmetics. As Billy Crystal’s old character, Frenando, used to say, “Yooouuuu look marvelous! And it’s better to look good than to feel good, you know what I’m saying to you, darling?”
The world has bought into this ideology for a long time. Three thousand years ago, Israel was searching for a king. The Lord told the prophet Samuel to anoint a king from the family of Jesse, a shepherd from Bethlehem.
As Jesse’s oldest son, Eliab, was presented to Samuel, the prophet was convinced he had the “looks” of the next king. But the Lord gave Samuel a bit of a rebuke. For God sees things differently than we are initially inclined to see. The Lord is concerned about something other than good looks—he cares about our hearts.
Pray for the Day:
Lord Jesus, help me care more about my relationship with you and my heart for others than a shallow approach to life. Amen.
