等候上帝
“凡等候耶和华，心里寻求他的，耶和华必施恩给他。人仰望耶和华，静默等候他的救恩，这原是好的。”
耶利米哀歌 3:25-26
还有什么比安静等候更难做到的吗？也许有吧。但是，我们很多人应该在安静等候的时候，却总是如坐针毡。
“苍天不负苦心人” （好事降临于耐心等待的人）这句话，圣经里虽然找不到，但是，安静等候，似乎总是对的。这大概是一句谚语，亨氏公司曾经用它来作为品牌番茄酱广告的推广口号。你不能急于求成。蛋尚未孵出之前，不要数点小鸡。你想要什么呢？要快餐吗？早起的鸟儿有虫吃，结果自己却喂了老鹰。
我们所希望的 总想立刻得到。我们希望救恩现在就临到，烦恼现在就消失，恶人现在就灭亡，家庭现在就蒙福，身体现在就康健，金钱现在就进腰包。也许，此时此刻，我们需要冷静下来。尽管我们总是迫不及待，然而，我们应当等候上帝。
今日祷告：
主耶稣啊，我很难做到耐心等候祢，求祢帮助我信靠祢。阿们。

Wait
The Lord is good to those who depend on him, to those who search for him. So it is good to wait quietly for salvation from the Lord.
LAMENTATIONS 3:25–26
Is there anything more difficult than waiting quietly? Probably. But by the way many of us act when we are supposed to be calm and watch time pass by, you would think we we were having a root canal done on our funny bone! (Not really sure what that means, but it sounds really uncomfortable!)
The phrase “good things come to those who wait” is not in the Bible. But it seems like it should be. It is a proverb, probably, that has been used by Heinz ketchup. You can’t rush a good thing. Don’t count your chickens before they hatch. What did you expect, it’s McDonald’s? The early bird gets the worm and then gets eaten by the eagle.
We want God’s salvation now, our worries to go away now, evil people to be gone now, our families to be blissful now, our health to be perfect now, and money to fall into our lap now. Perhaps we need to chill out right now, in this instant. We cannot afford to wait any longer. But it is good to wait on the Lord.
Pray for the Day:
Lord Jesus, I struggle to be willing to wait for you to act. Help me to trust you. Amen.
