April 12 – Open Door
There is a wide-open door for a great work here, although many oppose me.
1 CO R I N T H I A N S 1 6 : 9
Have you ever walked into a sliding glass door? You thought it was open but it actually wasn’t. Bam! It took you a moment to figure out that there was a door there, and that the door was closed. And the worst part was probably that all your friends or family were laughing at you. You just had to roll with it. So you smiled and maybe chuckled a bit. But ouch, your face hurt!
To find the open door, you must use all the resources God has given to you—sight, hearing, and senses. You must search for it. Ask God to lead you.
Listen for his Spirit’s guidance and ask for wisdom. Stay close to Jesus so that you aren’t led the wrong way. He wouldn’t lead you the wrong way. Jesus wouldn’t trick you and laugh at you when you smash into a closed door.
The apostle Paul wrote about a wide-open door God had opened for him as well. He didn’t assume everything would be easy or perfect because the door was open, but he knew God was giving him an opportunity to make a big impact in the world in which he lived.
Pray for the Day:
Dear Jesus, lead me to the right opportunities, the ones you want me to go
through. Amen.
